Well, I have to admit that I am indeed not a blogger. It was about a month ago when I entered my last entry. Leo got tired waiting for this entry.
As mentioned in the last entry, my pneumonia was getting better and much monitoring was done on baby and I.
I was starved on Sat 29 May. There seemed to be some irregularity in Baby's movement in me. Gynea doc said that I had to fast just in case I need to go into E. C-sect. I was very worried for the little one in me. But was too weak to really know what was going on. On top of that, the gastric juice running in me was making me sick as well. I remembered I kept asking the nurses when I would be able to eat. 'Soon', was all I got.
Gynea doc decided that we could still keep baby in me as he was just a 30 weeker. Of course, the longer baby stayed in me, the better it was for him.
Finally able to have food. However, there was closer monitoring on baby now. The nurses at ICU had to keep a close watch on baby's condition.
On Sun 30 May, there were more irregularities on baby's movement chart. I was to fast again.
On Mon 31 May, just past midnight, nurses at ICU found a huge drop in baby's movement. Gynea doc was called in to the ward at ICU. I couldn't do much. I was drifting in and out of sleep. Too weak from the fasting. Only remembered gynea doc saying to monitor a while more.
However, before long, the gynea doc was called in again. I have not felt baby's movement for a long time. Looking at the chart, it also registered little movement from baby.
Well, time to take baby out.
I was wheeled into the operating theatre.
I was still drifting in between sleep and consciousness. I remembered bending over and having the epidural. However, due to my water retention, my back was so thick that the anaesthetist could not find my backbone and had to jab me three times. Luckily, I was too drowsy to really feel the pain. The next thing I knew, my lower half of my body went numb. My legs felt like elephant legs...... hugh!!!
I was really scared of what was to happen next. I wanted Hubby to be with me but he was not allowed as it was an emergency c-sect. Thankfully, the anaesthetists, Dr Leong and Dr Justinian kept me company and talked to me throughout the whole time.
Though scared, I was listening out for that sound, the wailing of my baby!!!
Relief swept through me when I heard that beautiful sound. Finally, my baby boy was born! It was so loud and shrill! The little fighter!
As, baby was really small, he was taken away immediately. I was not given the chance to take a look at my baby boy! Regardless, as long as he was safe, everything was worth it!
Finally, everything was over. My ordeal was over.
